Música urbana, juventud y resistencia analiza algunos sonidos underground que resisten y coexisten en diferentes contextos geopolíticos urbanos de Latinoamérica. A partir de la realidad de América Latina, se sostiene que las culturas juveniles han construido y les han dado significado a los sonidos underground, en espacios colonizados donde las desigualdades de género, raza y clase se muestran de diferentes maneras. Aunado a ello, las diversas perspectivas de este libro revelan las luchas contra el capitalismo y el neoliberalismo que se dan a través de la música, en concreto a partir de las escenas musicales y la consolidación de procesos de resistencia juvenil. Así, se postula la música como una herramienta política que permite a las juventudes construir territorios geopolíticos y afectivos, que conllevan transformaciones culturales y generacionales. En definitiva, se trata de espacios en los que se realizan denuncias sociales que visibilizan problemáticas contextuales específicas.
