Simón de Rojas Clemente y Rubio (Titaguas, 1777-Madrid, 1827) es un referente para la ciencia de la Ilustración española. Inicialmente encaminado a la profesión eclesiástica, se enriquece con el estudio del naturalismo, particularmente de la botánica (fue alumno de Cavanilles). Amplió sus estudios en París y Londres, y realizó un viaje por Andalucía que le permitió realizar su «Historia natural del Reino de Granada».
