Esta obra de Gabriel Maura Gamazo, que ahora es objeto de una coedición facsímil entre el BOE y la Real Academia de la Historia, fue publicada en 1911 (volumen I) y 1915 (volumen II), con 28 ilustraciones. El texto manejado proviene de la biblioteca de la Real Academia de la Historia y, sin lugar a dudas, su autor, hijo de don Antonio Maura, es uno de los máximos especialistas en el reinado del último de los Austria en la primera mitad del siglo XX. La obra engloba el período de la minoridad de Carlos II hasta 1675, así como el valimiento de don Juan José de Austria entre 1677-1679....
