La hemodiálisis es un proceso que consiste en filtrar la sangre del paciente a través de la máquina de diálisis atravesando un filtro de limpieza y volviendo de nuevo al paciente. Los técnicos y auxiliares que trabajan en esta área deben estar familiarizados con el trabajo que allí se lleva a cabo y debe tener bien definidas sus funciones. En la primera parte se exponen los aspectos generales de la hemodiálisis, diálisis peritoneal y las técnicas alternativas.
