El 5 de marzo de 1939, al caer la noche, el coronel Segismundo Casado lideró un golpe de Estado contra el gobierno que presidía Juan Negrín. Se trataba de una acción coordinada en el territorio controlado por la República. El plan fue urdido durante meses. Esbozado desde finales de 1938, enhebrado en enero de 1939 y rematado en el mes de febrero, el golpe solo encontró la oposición del partido comunista, cuya previa neutralización, represión y desconcierto táctico evitó la resistencia a escala global. No sucedió lo mismo en Madrid, espacio central de la estrategia conspirativa....
